Hathaway was desperate to work with Burton

Hollywood beauty Anne Hathaway was so keen to work with Tim Burton in his modern retelling of Lewis Carrol’s Alice In Wonderland that she would not have minded playing a “mushroom” in the movie.

The Devil Wears Prada star said she was tired of being the “pretty girl” onscreen but was delighted when Burton offered her the character of The White Queen, the Contactmusic reported.

“I worked only two weeks on the movie so I decided to approach each day with absolute and unflappable gratitude that I was there and not let any nerves get in my way,” Hathaway said.

“I would have played a mushroom if Tim had asked me. I wouldn’t have even needed to speak! It was just about getting some time to spend with Tim and getting to be a part of his world, but happily he asked me to play the White Queen and guided me through this interpretation that I think is kind of a little irreverent and a little left of centre,” the actress said.

Hailed as a modern-day Audrey Hepburn, the 27-year-old actress, says she looks weird and puts her acting success down to sheer luck.

Anna Hathaway said “I think I’ve got really weird features,” she told InStyle. “I have very large features on a very small head.

“But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up. It’s my face. I’m not very pretty. But that’s OK because I do know that I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important.”

The girl must be the real deal — she managed to springbaord from being the chick in Disney’s Princess Diaries to being a fashion muse getting roles in stuff like Alice In Wonderland with Johnny Depp. But she says she feels out of her depth when acting with massive stars like Johnny, and Meryl Streep to name a couple.

Not bad for a girl who started getting her boobs out in an attempt to de-Disney-fy herself!

“I owe so much of my career to luck,” she said. “My mother always told me that luck is preparation meets opportunity and I’ve been given extraordinary opportunities to work with filmmakers long before I was talented enough and deserved to work with them.

“I’ve learned a lot from them. I just keep getting hired. I consider myself lucky and I don’t know who is responsible for it.”

Anne Hathaway Cast in Stephen Chow’s Superhero Comedy?

China.org.cn is reporting that Anne Hathaway is likely to star in Stephen Chow’s next movie. When Chow bowed out of directing The Green Hornet, he said that he would like to free some time up to work with Jack Black on a different superhero comedy? Well this is it.

Wei Dasen, a representative of Chow’s production company describes the film as “a superhero, action-packed, special effects-rich, and of course funny” . Sources close to Chow supposedly are saying that the film will be similar in style to the over-the-top parody aka “Kung Fu Hustle”. Chow is writing the screenplay and will also co-star. No further details are available at this time.

Anne Hathaway Says She Has ‘Weird Features’

Most people see Anne Hathaway and think she is one of Hollywood’s most beautiful young actresses.

But according to her, all she sees is her “weird features.” In a new interview for the March issue of InStyle magazine, the 26-year-old shares her thoughts on looks and the endless pressure of Hollywood.

Still, the star of the new film “Valentine’s Day” doesn’t let her minor insecurities get her down. In fact, she tells InStyle that at the end of the day, she is happy to be herself, just the way she is.

“I think I’ve got really weird features,” she says. “I have very large features on a very small head. But, you know, I’m not going to beat myself up… I look like myself, and I think at the end of the day, as nice as pretty is, authenticity is more important.”

Anne Hathaway admits that it’s “fun” locking lips with her hunky co-stars but she fears she hasn’t mastered the sexy scenes as well as some of her peers. That’s because the Alice in Wonderland actress finds it hard to “get into” on-camera smooches.

“If you’re both unattached and you get along, of course kissing in a movie is fun,” she told Britain’s GQ magazine. “But you can never get truly down and into it. Well, I can’t. Jennifer Garner, now that girl can movie kiss. I gotta say, that girl can really give it some up there.”

While she is one of the world’s highest-grossing actresses, Anne doesn’t have much confidence when it comes to “full-on movie kissing,” which she thinks is best reserved for Hollywood beauty Angelina Jolie.

“You have to understand. There’s a technique for pretty movie kissing,” she said. “There’s also full-on movie kissing — a totally different experience. But really, you have to be like Angelina Jolie to pull that off and still look good. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I ain’t no Angie.”

Harvard is sweet on The Devil Wears Prada star Anne Hathaway. The Ivy League university will bestow its Hasty Pudding Woman of the Year award on Hathaway at a parade and ceremony Jan. 28, organizers have announced.

The actresss, 27, was named to the honor by Harvard’s Hasty Pudding Theatricals – the country’s oldest undergraduate drama troupe – for her “contribution to entertainment.”

Hathaway, whose other films include Brokeback Mountain, Becoming Jane and Rachel Getting Married, was chosen because of the variety of her roles on screen and on the stage, a spokesman for the group told the The Harvard Crimson student newspaper.

“That theater aspect really hit home for us, for the Pudding, and we’re so excited for her to come,” he said.

Paparazzo crashes bike into Anne Hathaway’s car

Authorities say a paparazzo has crashed his bicycle into actress Anne Hathaway’s car in West Hollywood. No one was seriously injured. Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman Steve Whitmore said Thursday the unidentified cyclist ran into Hathaway’s car on Wednesday as the car made a right turn.

The Oscar-nominated star was a passenger in her black Audi being driven by her boyfriend Adam Shulman. Whitmore says investigators determined the rider was a paparazzo because he was carrying a camera with a long lens.

Witnesses told deputies he was traveling fast but there was enough time for him to avoid the crash. Whitmore says the paparazzo was at fault but no arrests were made.
